2025 Lighting Update

We will open the session with a quick overview of the state of LED lighting that includes a technology and electrification update.

LED Fact Check

After 12+ years of LED, we’re taking a step back to do an “LED Fact Check”. We will detail the important product considerations in 2025 beyond simple light output and wattage and delve into energy, cost and environmental considerations. Some of the topics discussed will be:

  • Mercury in lighting products – Environmental impacts (and dangers) of its use
  • Glare – It’s always been around but LED seems to have made it worse
  • Life Span – We were told that LEDs last forever. We’ll explain why that’s not really true.
  • Controllability – LED lighting is more controllable right out of the box. So how can you take advantage of that and why aren’t we doing more?

How Safe Are Your Light Poles?

Presenter: Kenny Johnson of EXO Inc.

Nearly all parking lots have light poles but how often do we evaluate the integrity of the poles our lights are mounted so high on? We will have a special, exclusive presentation that exposes the hidden dangers of older light poles and what tools and capabilities exist to determine whether your poles are vulnerable before mounting those new LED fixtures on them. This is an eye-opening and revealing presentation that everyone should see.
